Brainstorm and AU Receive CASE Circle of Excellence Award

Anderson University and Brainstorm received the 2002 Circle of Excellence Award for the AU public website from CASE (Council for Advancement and Support of Education), an organization which focuses on providing education professionals in alumni relations, communications, and fund raising with essential tools to advance their institutions.  AU received a bronze medal in the website category for the institutional site competition.


The judges reviewed 190 entries in the institutional website category and awarded four gold medals, seven silver medals, and three bronze medals.  CASE provides these awards to identify and reward excellence in the areas of alumni relations and communications.  The program includes 43 categories in the areas of alumni programming, philanthropy programs, institutional relations, electronic and new media, periodicals and publications.  

"This accomplishment was a team effort." said Chris Williams, director of Anderson Univesity's Media & Electronic Communications.  "Many internal persons played an important part in this award.  Appreciation also needs to be directed to our professional Web vendor in Indianapolis, Brainstorm, for their expertise and support.  This award is very meaningful for a smaller school like AU because we ranked among larger institutions such as MIT."

This year, the Circle of Excellence Awards Program received more than 3,700 total entries.  More than 720 institutional members, including AU, entered the program.  From all categories there were 346 awards made to 202 member institutions.  Fifty-one panels involving more than 200 volunteers, consisting of professional and CASE member experts, judged the 2002 competition.
